Permanent lighting is a row of LED lights mounted in a low profile track along your roofline. In daylight it blends into your trim. After dark, it gives your Whiterocks home a clean outline in warm white, or any color you pick from an app on your phone, with schedules that turn it on at dusk and off at bedtime.
Out in the foothills, where homes sit back on long lanes and nights get dark early, that steady light is useful well beyond December. It helps visitors find the house, brightens the yard for evening chores, and makes holiday decorating as simple as choosing a pattern. We measure, plan the runs, install the track cleanly, and walk you through the app before we leave.
We know how dark Whiterocks lanes get at night and plan layouts that light the parts of the property you use.
Tall ladders, track mounting hardware, and testing tools suited to fascia, soffits, shop walls, and metal trim.
We will tell you which rooflines are worth lighting and which runs add cost without making much difference.
We collect track offcuts, packaging, and drill dust, and leave your yard and porch as clean as we found them.
Whiterocks takes its name from the pale rock outcrop near the mouth of Whiterocks Canyon, and on a clear evening you can still see why that pale stone stood out. Once the sun goes down, though, the foothills get dark fast. There are no rows of streetlights here, and a lot of homes sit at the end of long lanes where the porch light is about the only thing showing.
Permanent roofline lighting changes that. A soft white outline along the eaves makes the house easy to find, lights up the yard and driveway apron, and can switch to holiday colors whenever you like, all without touching a ladder again.
Permanent lighting is a run of LED nodes set inside a slim aluminum track that mounts along the fascia or under the eave. The track is color matched to your trim, so during the day it mostly disappears. A small controller plugs into an outdoor outlet and connects to an app on your phone, where you set colors, brightness, patterns, and schedules.
Because the lights sit in a track instead of hanging from clips, they ride out snow, wind, and cold without sagging or blowing loose. When you want a full holiday look with wrapped trees and porch posts, seasonal holiday light installation layers right on top of the roofline.
Most owners end up using their permanent lights far more than they expected. A few common ways they get used:
Schedules handle the routine, so the lights come on at dusk and go off at bedtime without anyone thinking about it.
Rural properties often have more roofline than just the house. A detached garage, a shop, or the front of a barn can carry the same track, which helps when you are walking out to check on things after dark. We plan the runs so each building has access to power and the controller can reach it, and we talk through which sides are worth lighting and which ones nobody will ever see.
Before the track goes up, fascia and soffits need to be clean and dry so the mounts sit flat. If your trim is covered in grime or old cobwebs, pressure washing the fascia and siding first gives the install a better surface.
Whiterocks is near the far end of our routes, so we plan trips out and group installs with other properties nearby. The process starts with a visit to measure rooflines, find outlets, and look at the condition of your fascia. From there you get a layout and a quote, and the install itself is usually a single scheduled trip for most homes. Spring, summer, and early fall are the easiest seasons to book, since dry roofs and long days make for cleaner work.
If a new outdoor circuit or outlet is needed, that part is handled by an electrician before we mount the track.
Once the system is up, winter care is simple. Snow can sit on top of the track without hurting it, and you can keep running the lights while it does. The bigger concern is ice building at the eaves, which can push against the track and gutters over time. Clearing the lower roof with careful roof snow raking after heavy storms keeps that edge clear and protects both your roof and the lights.
If you have been thinking about lights you never have to hang again, reach out. We will come out, measure your Whiterocks home, and show you what a permanent layout would look like.
We measure your rooflines, check fascia condition, and find outlets on the house and any outbuildings.
You get a free quote and layout showing every run, the controller location, and the track color.
Crews mount the track, set the LEDs, connect the controller, and test every section on a scheduled trip.
We walk the system with you at dusk, set schedules, and show you how to change colors in the app.
