A sign is often the first thing a customer sees, and in Roosevelt, plenty of them are trying to catch drivers moving along Main Street, where US-40 and US-191 run through town. If it’s crooked, faded, or rattling loose, it sends the wrong message before anyone walks in.
We don’t fabricate signs. We install the ones you’ve ordered from your sign company and repair the posts, brackets, and mounts on signs you already have. That includes post-mounted yard and monument signs, wall-mounted panels, property and parking signs, and directional signs around lots and shop yards. Whether your business sits on Main Street or out on a rural lot near Ballard, the goal is the same: a sign mounted right the first time.
We know how traffic moves along Roosevelt's Main Street and where Basin wind and snow will test a sign.
Augers, post drivers, and anchoring tools let us set sign posts deep and mount wall signs into solid framing.
If an old post or bracket won't hold your new sign safely, we'll tell you before it goes up.
We haul off crates, packaging, spoil from post holes, and old hardware so your storefront looks finished.
Main Street through Roosevelt doubles as US-40 and US-191, so much of the traffic past your sign is moving at highway speed or close to it, a lot of it oilfield trucks and through travelers. That gives a sign only a few seconds to register. Placement, height, and angle matter as much as the design itself.
Before anything goes in the ground, we look at sight lines from both directions, nearby obstructions, and where snow will pile in winter. Your sign company handles the graphics. We figure out where and how to mount it so people actually see it.
Height matters too. A sign mounted too low gets hidden behind parked trucks and snow berms, while one mounted too high can sit above a driver’s natural line of sight. We’ll talk through options with you before the first hole is dug.
This is a common question, so it’s worth being clear. Basin Sealcoat & Striping installs and repairs signs. We don’t design, print, or fabricate them. Most clients come to us after ordering a sign from a sign shop, or when an existing sign needs work on its posts or mounting.
Before your sign is finished, it helps to share the dimensions, weight, and mounting style with us. That way we can plan posts, footings, or wall anchors that match the sign instead of improvising on install day.
If you’re still shopping for a sign, ask your sign maker how it’s meant to be mounted and what it weighs. Those two details shape almost every decision we make on install day, from post size to anchor type.
A flat sign panel catches wind the same way a sail does. Dry Basin wind can blow steady for days, and that constant push works posts loose in the ground and fatigues brackets at the joints. Posts need to be sized for the sign and set deep enough to resist that load.
Frost is the other factor. Duchesne County footings go at least 30 inches below grade, and sign posts set shallower than that can heave a little each winter until the sign leans. Before any post hole, we call Blue Stakes at 811, which Utah requires at least three business days before digging.
Wall-mounted signs face a different version of the same problem. Wind pulls on the fasteners rather than the footing, so the anchors need to hit solid framing or masonry, not just siding or stucco.
Most of our sign work falls into these categories:
Parking and directional signs work best alongside clear pavement markings. If your lot needs fresh lines, take a look at our parking lot striping service.
At 5,197 feet, UV is hard on sign faces and mounting hardware alike. Paint chalks, plastic panels yellow and crack, and fasteners rust out. In winter, plow berms bury low signs and occasionally clip a post. We reset leaning posts, replace bent or rusted brackets, swap damaged panels with replacements from your sign maker, and tighten hardware that’s worked loose.
If a sign area is grimy rather than broken, pressure washing can bring back posts, bases, and the walls around them.
Catching a loose bracket early keeps a sign from swinging in the wind, which is how small problems turn into cracked panels.
In December, it’s dark before most businesses close, and an unlit sign disappears. Lighting the sign or the area around it keeps your business visible through the darkest months. Our permanent property lighting service can add fixtures that light up a sign, entrance, or lot.
