Manila sits right where SR-43 and SR-44 meet, and every summer a steady stream of Flaming Gorge visitors rolls through looking for gas, food, lodging, and a place to launch. If your sign is leaning, faded, or hidden behind a snowbank, a lot of those folks drive right past. Ranch gates, rental cabins, and parking areas need clear signs too, just for people to find the right place.
We install and repair signs; we don’t fabricate them. Your sign maker builds the panel, and we set the posts, mount it to walls or frames, and get it level and secure. We also straighten leaning posts, replace broken brackets and hardware, and remount panels after wind damage. Manila is a scheduled trip for our crew, so we plan installs ahead and bring everything needed to finish in one visit.
We know how Manila snow, plow piles, and wind lean posts and pull panels, so we place and anchor signs with that in mind.
We show up with post hole tools, levels, drills, anchors, and fasteners for posts, walls, frames, and fences.
If a post can be straightened instead of replaced, or a spot will get buried by plowed snow, we'll tell you.
Old posts, packaging, and loose hardware leave with us, and we rake out the area around new posts before going.
Tourism is one of the main things that keeps Manila going, alongside hay and livestock. Summer brings anglers, boaters, and campers heading for Flaming Gorge Reservoir, and many of them are new to town. They make quick decisions from the road, so a sign that’s easy to read at a glance matters. Placement, height, and angle all affect whether someone sees your business in time to turn in.
When we come out for a site visit, we look at how traffic approaches, what might block the view, and where snow gets piled in winter. Then we help you pick a spot that works in every season, not just in July.
The town got its name in 1898, when surveyor Adolph Jessen named it after Dewey’s victory at Manila Bay, and it’s been the Daggett County seat since 1917. Plenty of local businesses here have been part of that story for a long time, and a fresh, well placed sign tells new visitors you’re open and ready for them.
Basin doesn’t design or make signs. You work with a sign maker on the artwork and the panel, and we take it from there. We set posts, build simple mounting frames when needed, and fasten signs to walls, fences, and buildings with hardware suited to the surface.
Before any post holes go in, we call Utah Blue Stakes at least three business days ahead, since whoever digs makes the call. If anything needs to be set to a certain depth, we follow local code and the building office. It helps to share the sign’s size and weight with us early so we can plan the right posts and anchors for the trip.
Manila averages around 38 inches of snow a year, and plows, drifts, and wind all take their toll on signs. Here’s what we usually get called about in spring:
We straighten and reset posts, replace hardware, and remount panels so they’re secure again. If a panel needs new graphics, we can take it down and put the new one up once your sign maker has it ready.
Lots and driveways need more than a storefront sign. Directional arrows, accessible parking signs, no parking signs, speed signs on private roads, and entry and exit markers all help people find their way and stay safe. These signs work best with clear pavement markings, and our parking lot striping crew can repaint stalls and arrows to match the new signs. Together they make a small lot much easier to use when it gets busy.
In December, it’s dark early, and an unlit sign can disappear completely. Many Manila businesses add lighting so their sign shows up at night and on gray days. Our permanent property lighting service can place fixtures to wash the sign face and the entry around it. Planning the lighting and the sign install together saves a second trip and keeps the wiring path tidy.
Sometimes the real problem is what the sign is attached to. A cracked concrete base lets a post wobble no matter how many bolts you add. Rotted wood framing gives way under a heavy panel. Loose siding behind a wall sign lets water in. When we find issues like that, we’ll point them out and fix the base first. For trim, siding, and framing around a building sign, our general repair work in Manila can take care of it on the same planned visit, so the sign goes back up on something solid and you don’t have to schedule another crew.
We check the location, sight lines from the road, snow storage areas, and what the sign will mount to or stand on.

We call Blue Stakes for any digging, set posts, mount your sign, and level and fasten it so it holds in wind.
We look at the sign from the road with you, confirm it reads clearly, and tighten anything that still moves.
