Every remodel starts with tearing something out. Whether you’re opening up a kitchen, redoing a basement, or getting a commercial space ready for a new tenant, interior demolition has to be done carefully. Load-bearing walls, plumbing, wiring, and HVAC all need to be accounted for, and the parts of the building that stay need to be protected from damage and dust.
We start by walking the space with you and your builder to mark what’s coming out and what stays. In Utah, older buildings may need an asbestos inspection before demolition or renovation work disturbs materials like flooring, drywall texture, or ceiling tile, so we’ll help you plan for that. Then we remove walls, flooring, cabinets, fixtures, and drywall, load everything out, and leave the space swept and ready for the next trade.
We know the Utah rules that affect renovations in older buildings and help you plan around them.
Demo tools, dust protection, and trucks to tear out and haul efficiently.
We'll work with your builder so we take out exactly what needs to go and nothing more.
We protect what stays, keep dust down, and leave the space broom clean.
Interior demolition is the first real step of almost every remodel, and how it’s done affects everything that follows. Tear out too much and your builder is replacing things that should have stayed. Tear out carelessly and you’re paying to fix dinged floors, cracked tile, or a dusty HVAC system. Done right, it gives your contractor a clean, honest starting point.
We remove non-structural walls, drywall, ceilings, flooring, tile, carpet, cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and trim. Any wall that might be load bearing gets a decision from your builder or engineer before it’s touched.
A kitchen or basement remodel is usually about precision. Families are often living in part of the house, so we keep the work zone tight, protect the rooms that aren’t changing, and keep the path from the work area to the trailer short and clean.
Commercial work has a different rhythm. A storefront on Main Street or an office getting ready for a new tenant often has a hard move-in date, shared walls with neighboring businesses, and a building owner who wants to know exactly what’s happening. Work may need to happen after hours so neighboring tenants aren’t dealing with noise during the day. In those spaces, pulling up old carpet and glue often leaves a bare slab, and some owners use that moment to look at concrete polishing as the finished floor instead of laying down new flooring.
The smoothest jobs start with a walkthrough where everyone agrees on the details. Here’s what we like to have nailed down:
Drywall and plaster dust travel. We hang plastic barriers, cover vents and returns in the work area, and lay floor protection along the path in and out. Finished floors, stair treads, and door frames that stay get covered before the first wall opens up.
Vernal’s air is dry most of the year, and bone dry debris kicks up a lot of dust when it’s moved. Regular cleanup through the day, and a light mist on debris before it’s bagged or loaded, keep things under control so the rest of the building stays livable or open for business.
Once the walls open, older homes and buildings tend to tell on themselves. Old water damage behind a shower, soft subfloor under a toilet, mouse nests in the insulation, or wiring that looks questionable all show up during demo. We stop and show you or your builder what we find instead of covering it up or guessing. Finding these things now, while everything is open, is a lot cheaper than finding them after new drywall and paint go up.
Some materials in older buildings, like flooring, ceiling tile, and drywall texture, may need asbestos testing before they’re disturbed. That testing is done by a Utah certified inspector, so it’s worth booking early so results don’t hold up the schedule.
We load debris as we go so the space never turns into an obstacle course. On bigger projects, demolition debris removal brings in extra hauling capacity. When we wrap up, the space is swept, nails are picked up, and your framer, plumber, or electrician can walk in and start.
Open walls are also a good excuse to knock out the small fixes you’ve been putting off. Our general repairs service can patch, replace, and tidy up the little things while access is easy, for homes and businesses across the Ashley Valley and out toward Roosevelt.
