Holiday lights in a small town carry a lot of weight. In Altamont, a lit roofline is something neighbors notice on the drive home along SR-87, and on dark winter evenings it makes the whole place feel a little warmer. The hard part is getting them up before snow covers the roof and the cold makes every clip a fight.
Our holiday light installation in Altamont handles the whole job: planning the look, hanging lights on rooflines, trees, and railings, and coming back to take everything down after the season. Altamont is far out on our route, so we book install trips in the fall and group nearby homes on one trip. Getting on the list early is the best way to land a spot.
We know Altamont winters arrive early, so we book installs in the fall and plan takedowns around the January cold.
Ladders, lifts, and proper clips let us outline tall peaks, shop rooflines, and big trees safely and in straight lines.
We'll tell you what will look good from the road and what's overkill, so your holiday lights budget goes where it counts.
We pick up every clip, cord scrap, and bulb we drop, and leave your yard and gutters the way we found them.
A great display doesn’t come from stringing up every light in the box. It comes from picking what to light and doing it cleanly. Before we hang anything, we stand out by the road with you and figure out what the house looks like from there. Rooflines frame the house, trees add height, and lit railings or walkways lead people to the door.
Color is part of that conversation. Warm white looks classic, multicolor feels fun and old fashioned, and a lot of folks mix them, with white on the house and color in the trees. Bring a photo of something you like and we’ll build from it.
It’s also worth deciding whether you want to keep hanging lights every year. If you’d rather skip the yearly hang and takedown altogether, permanent property lighting stays up all year along the roofline and changes colors from your phone, while seasonal pieces still dress up the yard.
Plenty of homes around Altamont sit on open ground, with long rooflines, big porches, and a shop or barn out back. Those properties can carry a display that would look crowded on a small town lot. A clean line along the eaves, a lit porch rail, and a couple of wrapped evergreens near the house make a strong look from the road.
Outbuildings are fair game too. A lit shop roofline or barn peak shows up from a long way off on a dark winter night, and it ties the whole property together.
Every display is a little different, so the scope comes down to what you want lit and how your home is built. The main things we look at:
Gutters and fascia matter too. Loose gutters or soft trim won’t hold clips well, and a quick fix through our general repairs service before install day keeps the whole line straight.
Altamont gets more snow than most towns in the Basin, and it often shows up before Thanksgiving. Hanging lights on a dry roof in October or early November is safer, faster, and makes for a tidier install than chipping ice off a gutter in December. Since our crews drive out from Vernal, we group Altamont installs on planned trip days, which is another reason fall booking works best.
Cold matters at takedown too. With January lows near 7°F, plastic clips and wire get brittle, so we take our time pulling the display down and pack it so it’s ready for next year.
For a shop, office, or church, holiday lights do more than decorate. A lit front catches the eye of people driving by after dark, and it makes the building feel open and welcoming during the busiest weeks of the year. Churches often light the entrance and walkways so evening services feel bright and easy to find.
We plan commercial displays around how people see the building, whether that’s from the highway or from the parking lot on the way in.
Once snow builds up on the roof, lights can get buried or dragged down by sliding snow. Fastening strands tight every few inches keeps them in place, and routing cords where melt won’t pool keeps connections dry.
If heavy snow stacks up over the season, roof snow raking takes weight off the roof, and we work around your lights while we do it.
We visit your Altamont home or business to plan rooflines, trees, railings, outlets, and the look you want from the road.
You get a free quote for holiday light installation, including takedown, based on roofline length, trees, and extras.
We hang lights with clips fastened tight, route cords neatly, set timers, and test every strand before we leave.
We walk the finished display with you after dark if you'd like, then return after the holidays for takedown.
